The trouble with being a god is that you've got no one to pray to.

I dont duel to much but when I play I use a deck centered around magic equipped cards. ( I'll get you yet jeffy, and your blue eyes too! ) ;)

A lot of people prefer to use a version of beatdown. I am no exception. My deck has a dark attributes theme; they're easy to blend and they tend to be more than they seem, so to speak. I use effect monsters like...well, I can't say here. I also like equip magic cards; my deck would be a shell without them. Ha, even if you take them away, I will still prevail! The one thing that makes any deck work is balance. Think physics. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction; by this reasoning you need to be aware of how to defend each strategy (creatively). Your deck should also constantly be evolving; there are new cards all the time (and old ones you never knew could work a certain way!). I try to use cards that work together in a variety of ways, instead of relying on the effect of one combination. Aside from deck construction....timing is everything. Knowing when to take risks and when to be patient. Recap: power+ nasty suprises add a little intuition and behold! A masterful duelist. Muhahahahahaha. Important tips: Think of every way you could possibly use each card (instead of reading it and superficially dismissing it) and learn how to create... ahhh trails off the beaten path that your deck can support. Meaning not everything in your deck has to seamlessly work together. There is something to be said for having the element of suprise. :o

I thought I would add that decks that are actually strategic do not have 600 cards in them. A good number to aim for is between 40-50 cards. It doen't matter that you have Raigeki or Jinzo etc. in your deck if you only have a 1 in 90 (ex.) chance of drawing it. Weeding out a deck can be tricky, but one way to decide about a card is to think about how you feel about drawing it. Choose cards that cover more territory. For instance, Gryphon Wing can only be used to counter the activation of one magic card's effect (Harpie's Feather Duster), whereas Magic Jammer can be used to counter the activation of any magic card's effect. Also it helps to have cards like Pot of Greed, Witch of the Black Forest, or Graceful Charity that give you more access to the cards you need.

Mass barrage my friends. Sheer numbers and a willingness to sacrifice anything on the board to get at your opponent is key.

You can have all the "uber" cards you want. But a 40 card deck of speedy monsters, flip cards, and one Blue Eyes will getcha every time ;)

If you trace a picture, then change some colours, have you made art...or a true travesty of another persons vision? And if you take someone elses music, and change some lyrics, have you composed a great new balad, or simply bastardized a good song?

Too true. Dueling cannot be mastered by the faint of heart! Even your favorite (best) cards are strategically expendable, just like the queen in a chess match.

How do you play? There might be some people who would be interested. Maybe post a link to a page explaining the rules. :)
